Dancing Daisies Pre-Ballet
Dancing Daisies is a pre-ballet class appropriate for ages 5-7. Kids are introduced to the discipline of dance through imaginative stories and exercises designed to lay a solid foundation of ballet fundamentals while nurturing their imaginative spirits. Kids benefit from Alden's professional performing background as well as her extensive training and Pilates certification. With Alden, little ballerinas plie, tendu, and leap to new abilities, spirited by exhilarating music.
Kids love to move. They love to pretend, to learn, and to play. In dance classes flavored by Alden’s animated direction, kids are encouraged to do all these things. They'll be riveted by compelling music and relish the fanciful movement explorations of rhythm, movement quality, and space. Activities give voice to their creativity and develop coordination, balance, musicality, partnering skills, and self-discipline. The best part? This is a class that boys as well as girls will really get into!
Celebrate your child’s next birthday with Alden! Whether your princess belongs in a Disney tale or Swan Lake, she and her friends will love Alden’s signature ballet parties. Girls and boys alike will get into the groove with fancy party tricks at Alden’s jazz-based hip-hop parties. Would she rather model a poodle skirt? Is she Broadway bound? Does she have the Charleston roaring through her ears? Whatever the theme, Alden will bring the party to life.
ALDEN MOVES Residencies
In her residencies, Alden LaPaglia helps students finesse their lines, soften their curves, and get to know themselves as dancers. Technique classes are provided in Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Theater, and Pilates, and ALDEN MOVES repertory reflects a seamless blend of each influence. In class, Alden focuses on alignment and musicality to train dancers to move with a calculated efficiency. She further challenges them to move past the boundaries of technique and tap into the humanity that makes dance relevant. They are asked to be people who dance rather than objects that move, thereby discovering what it is to “make movement dance” and “make dance move.”
